The Humanists seem to believe it is sort of a religion. They offer a Declaration of Principles, as a substitute for religion. Their own words:

It is called the seperate spheres idea. It was popularized by Stephen Jay Gould.
Only problem is that science measures reality. I always wondered what faith measures…

One might say it measures belief, without regard to the veracity of the belief.
