The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness

Very rarely do I come across a book that is so insightful and articulate that I stay up all night reading it. Lyle H. Rossiter; Jr’s The Liberal Mind, however, is no ordinary book.

Some people have good ideas. They can’t articulate them, and you end up with a 500 page book that leaves you more confused than when you opened it.

Other people are articulate but don’t have good ideas. Their prose is engaging but the ideas are less than compelling.

The Liberal Mind, I repeat, is both articulate and extremely compelling. If you are a Liberal, you might pick up this book and commit suicide. It leaves you no room to maneuver. If you’re a laissez faire Conservative but never knew why, this book will show explain why.
